Fitness for the next generation

Under 18 gym membership in New Mills

Our Youth Membership is all about building strong, confident young people - physically, mentally and emotionally.

We’ve created a safe, supportive junior gym space where pre-teens and teens (ages 10 to 18) can move, lift, learn and enjoy training without pressure or judgement.

This isn’t about competition. It’s about confidence, movement, and long-term wellbeing - laying the foundations for a lifelong positive relationship with fitness.

How our Youth Membership works:

Up to 2 x training sessions per week, choosing from:

  • Boys Club : Mondays & Wednesdays, 5.15pm

  • Girls Club : Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5.15pm

  • Mixed Youth Session : Saturdays, 10.15am

Sessions run all year round, including school holidays.

Maximum 18 attendees per session, with a lead coach and assistant coach in every class to keep supervision ratios low.

£35 /month

No long term contract

The training

Our Youth sessions are a hybrid format - a mix of strength, cardio, and functional training to improve overall fitness in a fun and accessible way.

We focus on:

  • Building full-body strength in safe, age-appropriate ways

  • Improving balance, control and movement

  • Boosting cardiovascular fitness through low-pressure, high-energy circuits

  • Developing confidence in and outside the gym

  • Supporting mental wellbeing and reducing stress

Every session is led by two DBS-checked coaches, including our younger Youth Coaches who act as inspiring role models.

Why youth training matters

We believe young people deserve better options when it comes to their health.

  • Teen fitness levels drop by up to 75% during adolescence

  • Many girls stop exercising due to pressure, discomfort, or lack of confidence

  • Strength training can reduce anxiety and boost mental health

  • Building strength early supports better posture, stronger bones, and long-term injury prevention

  • For those not into organised sport, gyms often aren’t an option - we want to change that

We’ve created something different. A non-intimidating junior gym space where movement feels fun, useful and empowering. Somewhere young people can be themselves, feel supported, and start building a body, and mindset, they’re proud of.

What makes us different?

Most gyms aren’t made with young people in mind.

At Fitness in Mind, we’ve created a space that is. Where fitness becomes something positive, not pressured. Where exercise supports growth, resilience and routine, not appearance.

We’re here to help the next generation stay active, feel good, and build a lifelong love
of movement.

Whether they’re already active or just getting started, every young person is welcomed as they are and supported to grow.
